The Journey before the Journey.

I feel very honored to have been selected for the Educators to Saudi Arabia Program. I cannot wait to share my journey, but I feel it is very important to share what it took to get to this point.

1. Augustin competes in Geography Bee at Macalester College. Jane Hertel, member of Minnesota Alliance for Geographic Education (MAGE), shares her travel experience to Saudi Arabia during the competition.
2. Develop a vision.
   
3. Approval from Superintendent Mike Smith.
4. Application for exemplary grant is approved.
5. Educators to Saudi Arabia Program Application is completed.
   
6. Educators to Saudi Arabia Program Acceptance Letter received.
   
7. SHOCK!
8. The remaining requirements must be met (e.g. Visa, medical examination, etc.).
9. Join Listserver to communicate with other teacher participants.
   
10. Discussion about technology possibilities begin.
    
11. Shopping, packing, and planning.
    
12. Blog page created.
13. Technology tested.
14. Cross fingers.

I am now ready to travel and cannot wait to board the plane on Monday, November 19, at 10 a.m..
